Harpsichord after Johannes Ruckers (1624)

This instrument is a copy of a harpsichord formerly in the possesion of the Marquis de Sade and now in the Unterlinden- Museum in Colmar / France. It received a major rebuild in France around 1700, when two new keyboards and extra strings were fitted, giving it a compass of GG-AA to d3. This brought it up to date for the keyboard music of the period. During that reworking of the instrument the case wasn`t altered at all, whereas in many other cases of  modernising Flemish harpsichords in France, the case was extended in the treble. Obviously, the builder, who did the work, was very anxious not to change the sound at all.

Clavichord after Christian Gottlob Hubert (1771)

The original is kept at the Germanisches Nationalmuseum Nürnberg; it is unrestored and the lid and legs are missing. The lid of my copy is based on surviving lids of other Hubert clavichords and the legs are copies of  an instrument from the same period.
The clavichord has the compass FF to f3 and is unfretted. At a pitch of a1=415, the strings are all brass, bichord throughout and covered in the bass from FF to C.
